On behalf of Soma Selepak Culture Association of Ottawa and Cambodian Community in the City of Ottawa, I would like to thank to The Honorable Mike Colle, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration and The Honorable Dalton McGuinty, Premier of Ontario who awarded a grant of $ 18000.00 to Soma Selepak under the Ontario's Community Builders program to educate the public about Cambodian culture and heritage through dance performances, cultural workshops for students and a multicultural showcase event.  I would like to, especially, thank to Miss Tara Currie, Consultant at the Ministry of Citizenship who helped to make this grant possible.

Soma Selepak is very pleased to announce that we received a two-year grant from The Ontario Trillium Foundation , in the amount of $ 15000.00 per year, a total of $ 30000.00 for two years, to support our Cambodian Traditional Dance Program for 2004-2005 and 2005-2006 years.

This grant will enable us to continue to provide good programs for youth and children in the City of Ottawa. Cambodian community would like to thanks to The Ontario Trillium Foundation for your support and the believed in Soma Selepak.

Special thank to Mr. L. Robin Cardozo, Chief Executive Officer, Jean-Paul Gagnon, program manager, who make this funding possible.

Soma Selepak would like thank to the Government of Ontario, Ministry of Citizenship Immigration, Ministry of Tourism and Recreation, Ministry of Culture of their support. Soma Selepak Culture received a grant in the amount of $ 6500.00 through “Community Sport Opportunity Fund Grant” to support Cambodian Traditional Dance program for 2003-2004 year.

Special thank to Ms. Pennie Richard-Chin, Community Developer, who helped guiding us all the way to make this funding possible. Thank to Mr. Jim Bradley, Minister and the Premier Hon. Soma Selepak Culture Association is pleased to announce the support from The City of Ottawa, Art Funding in the amount of $ 4000.00 to Soma Selepak for the 2008-2009 year for instruction of traditional Cambodian dance to youth and children in Ottawa with presentations.  On behalf of Soma Seleak Culture Association and Cambodian community in Ottawa, I would like to thank to The City of Ottawa, Art Funding for your on-going support.



Soma Selepak Culture Association would like to announce the support from The Ontario Trillium Foundation and Mr. Jean-Paul Gagnon, Regional Manger for Champlain Region of the Ontario Trillium Foundation who approved $ 15000.00 funding over one year for Soma Selepak to improve safety to our rehearsal space by adding electrical works, drywalls and flooring to our rehearsal space.  On behalf of the Soma Selepak Culture Association and our dance troop we would like to thank to the Ontario Trillium Foundation for your on-going support to the Soma Selepak.

Successful project:

Soma Selepak was successfully completed the Multicultural Project sponsor by the Ministry of Citizenship and Immigration.  We would like to thank Honorable Michael Chan, Minister of Citizenship and Immigration, who approved the funding and Amenda Bolton, Regional Advisor who worked very hard with Soma Selepak to make this funding possible.  We would like to thank to the Ottawa District School Board, International Language Program, Principal Michael Harrison who coordinated and led the whole event.  Ottawa District School Board provided a beautiful auditorium for the Multicultural Cultural Performance on April 26, 2008 and all the technical support.  I would like to thank to every one who participated with the Multicultural Show and Performances, especially teachers and students at the Glebe Collegiate, International Language programs who brought in their traditional dances and cultural displays to share their tradition with others.  Special thanks to Cambodian Association of Ottawa Valley, Burmese Community Services, India-Canada association, Latino in Canada Association, Lac Hong, Ottawa Chinese Community Service Centre, Indonesian Canadian Congress, Gracious Light Christian Centre, Angkorian Community of Canada and all volunteer and participants who support us at this event.  Please refer to our brochure for the Multicultural Show for complete list of all participants at the event.
